This is what i have so far: ENG-123 3-6 Module 3-6 Writing Plan

The main point for my persuasive essay is ‘ Restricting Immigration to Protect America Against Terrorists. Restricting immigration can protect America against terrorism as massive immigration levels throughout the 1990s and since 2000 have overwhelmed the agencies charged with ensuring that suspected terrorists do not enter the United States. Besides, terrorists take advantage of considerable immigrant populations in the United States, hiding in immigrant communities and even recruiting other terrorists from these communities. This issue relates to my field of study because the criminal justice system’s role in countering terrorism can be challenging as the severity of terrorist violence within the strict constraints and protections of the justice system and the rule of law.
I will use three key points to support my argument for my persuasive essay. The first key point is that terrorists are responsible for the September 11, 2001 attack on the United State. The second key point is tightening the border and restricting immigration are as critical to reducing terrorism as are military operations abroad, and the third key point is a tamper-proof national identification card must be issued to cut down on illegal immigration and prevent identity theft. In supporting my argument, these key points will give valid reasons and evidence why immigration must be restricted to protect America from terrorists.
My targeted audiences that I will be addressing are my professor, criminal justice professionals who work within the immigration department, especially Border Patrol Agents, and individuals who believe that restricting immigration cannot protect America against terrorists. I will encounter challenges from my readers, who disagree with my views on immigration restriction in protecting America against terrorists. By using credible evidence and a reputable tone to connect with my viewers, I think I can overcome those challenges.
The goal that I hope to accomplish by writing my essay is to convince my readers that if the necessary authorities place restrictions on immigration, America can be protected from terrorists. To achieve this goal, I will present evidence gathered form my sources to back up my claims.
The first potential resource that I will be using as a supporting evidence for my argument is:
Immigration Must Be Restricted to Protect America Against Terrorists- “One of the most pressing but neglected subjects in the war on terrorism is the relationship between immigration and terrorism (Krikorian 2004).” This resource will reinforce my argument because the author,
The next resource I will use to support my argument is: The United State Must Restrict Immigration to Prevent Terrorism-“Mass immigration contributes significantly to the terrorist threat in the United States. If there were no Muslim immigrants or immigrants who harbor political or religious hostilities against America, the potential for terrorism would be minimal (Francis, 2004).” This resource will be helpful in reinforcing my argument since mass immigration is a factor has contributed to terrorists’ threat in America. Another resource that I will use as a support is: Strict Immigration Laws Are Necessary to Fight Terrorism-“Most of the terrorists involved in the September 11, 2001, attacks on America had taken advantage of the nation’s weak immigration enforcement system. Some had obtained temporary visas while others were applying for asylum or had entered the United States illegally. In order to prevent future attacks, immigration agencies should meticulously scrutinize the immigrants admitted to the country and rigorously monitor U.S. borders. Those fighting the war on terror at home need strict immigration policies to deny terrorists access to the United States (Krikorian, 2006).”
Based on my argument, the points in the essay that integrating evidence would be most effective are the introduction and the body. The thesis statement supposes to be the first sentence of my introduction so, I would need to integrate evidence to back up any related assertion that I make to help to strengthen my thesis.
Revision strategy is a process by which an individual review and evaluate one’s writing before revising it. Sometimes it might take multiple revisions before submitting a final draft of your work. Having a revision strategy helps me outline what is to be done and manage my time effectively. One revision strategy that would be most effective while writing my persuasive essay is reviewing my instructor’s feedback. Reviewing the feedback from my instructor will have a positive influence on my ideas about my selected argument. This strategy would be effective because it can improve my writing skills, motives me, and gives me confidence while I write.
