13th documentary

Because your family is very important to you, you want to give them a special gift that shows how much you love them. That gift is a gift of knowledge. So, instead of bringing flowers, candy or some other gift the next time you visit home, you will be bringing your laptop, a projector and your portable projector screen to deliver to your family members a presentation on the most important findings, themes and ideas that you learned from the documentary, 13th. In short, provide a brief summary of what 13th teaches us so that your family members can learn what you learned from this documentary. (NOTE: You don’t really have to present this to your families…I’m creating a hypothetical presentation opportunity to challenge you to present what is taught in and learned by watching this documentary to a lay audience–however, you would get super-extra-cool points if you did actually present this to your family!).

Your presentation should be no more than 5 minutes. You’ll use VoiceThread to narrate and record your presentation because I cannot make it to your house when you deliver this gift to your loved ones. To use VoiceThread, you will want to start by creating your presentation in PowerPoint and then upload it to VoiceThread as shown in this tutorial video. In fact, saving your PowerPoint to a PDF and then uploading it to VoiceThread will help to ensure that the formatting in your PowerPoints is not distorted during the upload to VoiceThread. Once uploaded, follow the instructions for how to comment on your presentation using either the audio or video comment tools.
