Compare and contrast the two readings (PDF) as attached

The attached paper is the first part of the paper being written about “where are they? – Nick Bostrom” but it needs rewriting plus adding a compare and contrast into it.

The main point of this paper is to accurately discuss what the authors are writing about.

The rewriting comments are:
“What Bostrom is trying to say is that since the galaxy is so large but we’re not seeing other intelligent life so far, there must be a “Great Filter,” meaning a very difficult barrier for any species that is hard to survive. Bostrom is hoping that the Great Filter is already in our past: for example, maybe it is very hard for life to start on any planet in the first place. If so, then we have already passed our most difficult challenge just by existing in the first place.

However, if there are traces of life on Mars, that strongly suggests that it is relatively easy for life to form on a planet. That would indicate that the Great Filter is still in front of us in the future, and if so, then we may be in trouble. For example, maybe life evolves on a lot of planets but then is usually killed either by nuclear weapons or global warming. If that’s the way things usually go, then it will probably happen to us too.”

Please rewrite with the above comments as well as interjecting the other reading provided in the paper. Such as how Donna Haraway’s idea of modifying the human body and by doing that it would help human beings to outlast any disaster or even the covid filter as mentioned by Bostrom’s reading. I will update with additional points to write about but other than that, please just write above these two if my additional points do not come within a day or two.
