Annotated Bibliography
Research on of the following questions:
1) How did law codes evolve between those of ancient Babylon through the time of ancient Greece?
OR
2) What factors led to the fall of Rome in 476 CE?
OR
3) The time period between 500 CE – 1000CE in Europe is often disparagingly called “The Dark Ages” because of a perceived cultural, economic, and demographic decline after the fall of the Roman empire, is this description fair and accurate?
You must do five things for this assignment:
1) Type out the research question you are answering (one of the three above).
2) Write an annotated bibliography using 3 sources. At least one of the sources must be a primary source. The other sources should be scholarly secondary sources (newspaper articles, studies, peer-reviewed journal articles, books). Annotations should summarize, assess, and reflect. You should have 3 total annotations, one for each source you have. There is no standard length, but I would aim for 10-15 sentences for each annotation.

3) Provide a preliminary thesis (argument) for your upcoming final paper based on the research you have done for this annotated bibliography. The thesis should answer the research question.
4) Make sure the header is still in MLA format, use size 12 Times New Roman font, give your annotated bibliography a title.
5) Sources must be scholarly. That means peer-reviewed books or journal articles. Use our school library and databases. Do not use websites with no authors or authors that are unqualified. You are looking for a source that makes an argument. You may not use: Encyclopedias, Wikipedia, history.com, biography.com, history.org, Khan Academy, K-12 school websites, textbooks, historywhiz.com, ancient-history.net, Ducksters, Quora, yahoo answers, ThoughtCo, Crystals, or other websites in this vein.
