Black Stories
Write to attempt to answer my questions below and theorize a resolution to create black contemporary dance art behind these questions? What might dance look like telling these stories? Why are these stories important to be communicated through dance? How do these stories affect the civil rights movement and the black lives matter movement?

Currently, the world is trying to manipulate and silence black voices. Witnessing the experiences of police brutality, the many deaths of black people, and the manipulation of how these stories are heard and told is concerning and heartbreaking. As a black, disabled, and queer artist, why is it important for black voices to be heard? Why is it important that our stories are told? Why do you think we are silenced? Why can dance be an artform to help reveal black stories?
