Case Analysis MEMO: UCB: Data Is the New Drug
You, Herman De Prins, the CIO, are to write a memo to all senior management outlining the discussion on company’s digitization strategy ahead of the March 2016 Shanghai meeting. Building on the experience with the “Future of IT” program and, in particular, the “Analytics as a Service” platform, you (De Prins) want to address the following points in his memo to the senior management team at UCB::
The key achievement(s) of the programs in the past five years;
One or two highly attractive opportunities for UCB to use data and analytics to create values;
Decision agenda (see case p.8) and proposals to be discussed at the meeting.
This memo will come from Herman De Prins to the senior management team. It should be concise (no more than 3 pages long, single spaced, using 11- or 12-point font) and to-the-point. You can use any memo format (such as one of the memo templates provided by Word), as long as it’s professional and legible. Once done, save your draft memo in a pdf file (not Word or any other format).
