Go online to find out more about early childhood curriculum. Here are a few websites to look at:

Defending the Early Years is the website of a group of well-respected educators and advocates who seek to rally educators to take action on policies that affect the education of young children, in particular inappropriate standards, assessments, and classroom practices.

Community Playthings is an educational equipment provider. Its website has many articles about play; some are written by notable early childhood educators and researchers.

Early childhood professional organizations have websites with articles, position statements, video links, and interest forums. While those of your own country directly address early childhood education in your nation, other countries also offer useful resources. Websites include Asia-Pacific Regional Network for Early Childhood, Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI) Canadian Child Care Federation, The Canadian Association for Young Children (CAYC) Early Childhood Association-India, Early Childhood Australia, Early Childhood Council (New Zealand), Early Education (UK), NAECCEM (Malaysia), the National Association for the Education of Young Children—USA (NAEYC) National Day Nurseries Association (UK), South African Congress for Early Childhood Development, and World Organisation for Early Childhood Education (OMEP).

The International Play Association (IPA) is an international nongovernmental organization that provides a forum for exchange and action to protect, preserve, and promote the child’s right to play as a fundamental human right.

Explore and Experience

Attend a conference, workshop, or seminar. put on by your local early child professional association, resource and referral organization, or early childhood club. Talk to more experienced educators about their views on early childhood curriculum.

Interview your grandparent or someone your grandparent’s age. Ask this elder to tell you about his or her early education (preschool, kindergarten, or first grade). Consider how this is the same as or different from your experience and the experience of children today.
