Children usage of technology
This semester, we are learning more about the role of nature in our lives. We will also learn that research, argumentation, and synthesis are the cornerstone skills that students need to learn in order to thrive in college. For this assignment, you will use your skills to summarize, analyze, and synthesize sources to form a sustained argument. This assignment asks you to write a 7-10 page essay that investigates a particular issue related to our course theme. You are encouraged to explore the topic through a lens that interests you. For instance, if you are interested in popular culture, you may look at the ways that popular documentaries or series portray the importance of nature. Or even consider the history of such programming and how it affects people’s perceptions of the natural world. If you are interested in science, you may want to explore a specific issue concerning climate change. Or, you may consider why conservation programs and awareness are important for preserving shark populations. You may consider the role sharks play in our ecosystem and marine life. Or, if you are interested in farming, you may consider the role of farms in our ecosystems and how these farms impact local and global economies. In other words, there are many ways of approaching this topic, and we will discuss them further as a class.
