Clinical cytopathology: Ageing and disease: Processes and Alzheimers
There should be three parts for the Ageing and disease: Processes and Alzheimers personal log:
1. A reflective introduction to the learning topic – how can learning about this topic can be applied in a laboratory environment.
– Demonstrate understanding of the scientific bass for the test and diseases and an awareness of the factors affecting sample integrity, risks associated with the sample or regents, or method of testing
2. A question and answer that is relevant to the learning topic, e.g. are there new better ways to test for the condition
– Don’t ask questions you can find the answers for in a text book or it is a knowledge of an undergraduate
– Provide reputable references
3. Critically review 3 reputable journal articles from the last 5 years and be relevant to the topic articles.
– Say why you chose this article and include statistical data from the text in your answer, e.g. is it a step forward in the treatment or diagnosis of the disease.
– Summarise the paper in a critical scientific manner.
– Don not just copy or paraphrase the abstract
The hole content of the assignment should not contain anything from the power-point. Present new information only, which is at a higher than undergraduate level of knowledge. Do not use an article more than once across the three parts of the assignment
