Do you believe Victims of Crimes should be allowed to address the Court? Why? When do you believe it is best to allow them to speak?
The law recognizes certain defenses to crime. In those cases, even when an individual has committed the guilty act (actus reus) of an offense, they are not guilty of the crime charged. Why shouldn’t those who commit the guilty act always be held accountable for their actions?
Explain the importance of the adversary system. What safeguards are provided by the adversary system?
Should prosecution for a crime in both state and federal courts be prohibited by the double jeopardy clause?
What are the differences between state high courts that have intermediate courts of appeals and those that do not? Why would a state not have an intermediate court of appeals? Is there a difference in the likelihood of an appeal being heard?

This question asks: How should investigators conduct reconnaissance and surveillance activities at this location in order to gather information and intelligence in preparation for the sting?
Response: Plain clothes officers in unmarked cars should establish positions in close proximity that surround the property without being detected (window tint, dashboard/windshield shades, etc.). Camera and video equipment should be used to monitor the daily and nightly activities of persons and vehicles coming and going. All ingress and egress points should be documented. A police helicopter from long distances and high altitude can provide a bird’s eye view and photos/video of the property. The helicopter can also be used to follow vehicles of interest or vehicles that marked police units follow away from the location and conduct traffic stops in order to gather intelligence from the occupants. Marked police units can also conduct subject stops of persons that left the location. Undercover units should be directing the marked units so their cover is not compromised.
