What is the purpose and is it accomplished? What is its thesis or claim?
What does the arguer want me to do or believe?
Has the visual been accompanied by sufficient text to answer questions you may have about its claim?
Are the visual elements more prominent than the text? If so, why?
Does the arrangement of elements in the message tell me what the arguer considers most important?
Does the visual image lead you to entertain unreal expectations?
What type of audience is implied in the visual text?
