Culminating Writing Assignment (TEEL-670G)

This paper is based on the text Classroom Instruction That Works by Marzano’s, Pickering and Pollock, 2001.

Part 1. Using the text, CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION THAT WORKS (MARZANO, Pickering and Pollock, 2001): (1) Explain the research rationale of effect size upon which Marzano’s Nine Essential Instructional Strategies are based (Chapter 1) and (2) identify, explain and give examples of each of the Nine Essential Instructional Strategies (Chapters 2-10) (4-5 pages) (400 points)

Part 4. In your view what are the most significant contribution your subject area of makes to your school mission? (Why/How?) How can the use of innovative teaching methods within your classroom add to these contributions? (1-2 pages) (100 points)

Part 5. Research: Find two journal articles written by two different authors that are related to the topics in this course. Then:

(a) compare and contrast the theories (positions) presented in the articles, or

(b) interpret each article and discuss implications for your practice or

(c ) write a constructive critique of each author’s conclusion (4-7 pages) (400 points)
