Describe an object
For this assignment, your job is to write a thorough description of a non-human object – something material, physical, tangible – of your choice. You may choose something living or non-living, something from the animal, vegetable, or mineral kingdoms, or perhaps instead a seemingly-inert object with which you frequently interact but which you rarely pay attention to. Spend a few days really getting to know that object differently. Observe it from different angles, hold it or touch it, use all your senses to perceive it (within reason). Your first step is to decide the object you wish to write about and start observing it and interacting with it in different ways. Brainstorm, take notes, and prepare yourself to start drafting the essay.
Now, create a 2-page essay (double-spaced) describing that object from your perspective. Think carefully about how you will organize this information into discrete paragraphs to create a coherent piece of writing – physical description, daily interaction and/or use, unexpected things that it can do, etc.

Begin essay as a double-spaced document. Use Times New Roman or Arial, 12pt font, normal
margins. Indent new paragraphs, but do not add an additional space between them.
