I need a rough draft/some ideas to get started. I will provide files for the readings. Only 2 are required sources but 4-5 would be better.

Provide your response to current ideas about grammatical “correctness.”

Join this ongoing conversation by providing a clear and thoughtful response to this topic. Describe the role that “proper” English grammar will play in your life as a student, professional, and community member. What type of voice are you developing as a writer? To what extent will this voice follow the conventions of “correct” grammar and formality?
Place these ideas within a real-world context by providing detailed examples of writing tasks that have been required of you and/or that might be required in the future.

As you develop your response, think about the following:

– How much importance do you place on conforming to the rules of grammar? Do you think it is okay to “bend the rules”?
– Think about the tasks that will be required of you as a college student, as a worker in the field you plan to go into, and in the roles you will fulfill as a community member. What expectations will audience members have for you in these rhetorical contexts?
-Have any grammar rules been a struggle for you? In what way/s have you struggled? What methods have you tried for overcoming these struggles?
– Are there any grammar rules that you disagree with (or are uncomfortable with)? Which rules might you consider breaking, and why?
– Ethos: When reading your work, how would you like your readers to see you? What qualities do you want to convey?
– Can you join an academic discourse community without compromising your personality, authenticity, creativity, voice, etc.?
– Will different voices/tones be required for different roles you will fulfill?

How likely is it that grammar errors could cause you to miss out on opportunities?
