Ⅱ: Discussion Board Purpose and Due Date

The purpose of this discussion board is to assist you in your quest to identify issues associated with entrepreneurship and innovation. The innovation part of this assignment is that you will use technology (i.e., Ivy Learn) to create something new that benefits the ideate aspect of your business venture. The purpose is achieved when you can provide meaningful discussion of the following matters.
Identify (i.e., write) key considerations of a good new business idea.
Identify (i.e., write) strategies that ensure a new idea works in the real world.
State (i.e., write) the attributes that make your idea a good idea.
Your lens will be that of a startup/business venture, which includes yours. This allows you to pay close attention to the world around you and see your daily experiences through an entrepreneurial lens. This assignment should motivate you to see opportunities in your idea too. It should also help you see that opportunities grow when people move beyond the easy answers that are right in front of their nose.
Post the original thread by (insert due day/date) as noted on the course calendar. Reply to the original thread of two different students between (insert due day/date) . As noted in the syllabus, credit is given for timely posts only.

Part Ⅰ: Four Business Ventures/Startups

I was assign the playground image.

Based on the image assigned to you, conduct a search to identify at least four entrepreneurial ventures/startups that have a product or service that is impacting your given scene. You must identify the scene in your post, so the other students can view it when they complete their reply posts for this assignment. Simply add this sentence to your original post, “The image I am assigned is ______________ (e.g., Image #4 Boys at the Beach).”

Think broad rather than restrictive. Think about what went into creating that image. How did that day come about? What business ideas help make it possible? What had to happen to make whatever is happening in that image happen? If you get stuck, think about what is going on in the background and think about what will happen next after that photo. Can you see any startups from that lens?

Example: The image I am assigned is the Example Image. Four startups that have a product or service that is impacting my scene include: 1) Zola, 2) Bloomerent, 3) The Knot, and 4) Paperless Post.

Part Ⅱ: Attributes of the Startups

Once you find four startups that impact your scene, identify and discuss the promising attributes that would make it an easier path to acquiring customers (i.e., What makes it work in the real world?). Explain why you chose your answer for each business venture.

Additionally, your discussion must include information about your business venture, too (i.e., identify the promising attributes your business venture has).

Use the three attributes/key considerations of a good new business idea from Kauffman in your discussion.

Fits current consumer behavior

Part Ⅲ: Customer Identification

Identify the customer for each venture you found. Your discussion must give a brief introduction (i.e., in less than 20 words) about the company for others to understand your customer identification. Your discussion must include the population group the businesses are selling to first, second, and third. Explain.
Your discussion must include your business venture too. Identify a few strategies that will ensure your business venture will work in the real world. Use the module resources to support your discussion.
Remember, if you use someone else’s thoughts, you must use APA in-text citation and include a reference at the end of the post.
Keep in mind, based on the prerequisites for this course, it a fair to conclude that you can successfully complete this task.
