Compose a 750 – 1250-word analytical essay discussing the theme of race, marriage and gender roles, and deception in the play Othello
Your essay must follow the standard academic form:
introduction with a “hook” and a specific three- point thesis statement that clearly discusses either the theme of race, marriage and gender roles, and deception in the play Othello
body paragraphs that support each thesis statement point with topic and concluding sentences, and
a conclusion that offers final thoughts.
Your title cannot be the same as the title of the story. The CGTC Rubric is used to assess this essay.
Primary source(s): The course’s book should be used as your primary source. You must cite the literature using MLA styling. Literature entries must appear on the Works Cited page. In-text parenthetical citations must be properly used in the body of the essay. Any primary source from a difference location will automatically be deducted 10 points. In addition, failure to provide an in-text citation(s) will be penalized 10 points or 20 points for a missing Work(s) Cited.
Secondary sources (Research): 1 – 2 sources from one of the Central Georgia Technical College library’s databases (GALILEO and/or Literary Reference Center). Any scholarly article or book that summarizes, evaluates, or interprets primary sources can be a secondary source. Additionally, the course textbook includes literary criticism for several stories. However, do not use biographical information about the author. Literary criticism entries must appear on the Works Cited page. In-text parenthetical citations must be properly used in the body of the essay. Any secondary source from a difference location will automatically be deducted 10 points. In addition, failure to provide an in-text citation(s) will be penalized 10 points or 20 points for a missing Work(s) Cited.
If this assignment is missing both an in-text citation(s) and a Work(s) Cited, the final grade will earn a grade of zero.
