Write a 1,500-2,000-word essay on the article, “The Missing “Missing Middle”” posted on D2L. You can find the article under the “Library E-Reserves” section. (See below.) There is only one article under this section. The paper is from the Journal of Economic Perspectives, a journal intended for a general audience.  A good essay must have an introduction, a body, a conclusion, and a bibliography. Write your essay in the following structure: 1. Introduction 2. Body (You must have both Section 1 and 2) A. Section 1: Provide a summary of the main question and conclusions of the article. B. Section 2: Provide a critical review of the article. In this section, you should critically state what you agree/disagree with the article’s main argument. In doing so, you can take the following approach: ⚫ Analyze the strengths and weaknesses or limitations of the article in your view. ⚫ Present any argument or evidence not mentioned in the article that you consider important for the question. Explain why you think it is essential. ⚫ In presenting your ideas, support your argument using other appropriate sources (i.e., course materials, other academic articles). 3. Conclusion 4. Bibliography Specific formats are: ⚫ Write at least 1,500 words (upper-liberal studies course requirement). Do not exceed 2,000 words. I will disregard anything you write after the 2,000-word limit. The word count does NOT include the bibliography. ⚫ You must write it alone. This essay is an individual project. ⚫ Submit via D2L. No E-mail submissions. ⚫ Submit only once. Do not submit essays multiple times. Only the first submitted essay will be graded. ⚫ Essays will not be graded or reviewed before submission. ⚫ Only typed essays will be graded. ⚫ No title page. Make sure you start your essay with the following: ECN 503 Writing Component Date: Name: Student ID: Word Count: ⚫ You MUST always cite when you use someone else’s work. A bibliography should be included at the end of the document. For citations and bibliography, choose any standard citation style (i.e., APA, MLA, Chicago). If you chose one style, stick to it. Do not mix different citation styles in the essay.
