Emergency Management
The first government officials, referred to as First Responders, to respond to disasters are usually the local police, fire, and emergency medical personnel. Their job is to rescue, attend to victims, secure the affected area, and begin to restore order. They are supported by local emergency personnel, and community government officials. This week we learn about response which is one of the 4 phases of emergency management. When a disaster occurs, government and people “respond” to the disaster.
