The second case involves two easy questions and one hard question. Most students excel at answering the first two questions. In fact, they put most of their effort into them, almost dismissing the last question (which is clearly worth much more than the others). Why is the last question so important? It requires both critical and creative thinking required for entrepreneurship.
For the third question, I expect some insightful financial calculations. You may think that the case contains few numbers and hence, there is no way to think about the financial potential for the venture. This would be very short-sighted. You can do a lot with just a few numbers. Use your imagination – as an actual entrepreneur would – to get out of your comfort zone and see where it takes you. Think about the financial viability of the options presented in the case. What might each path be worth to Eric Chang?
