HIPAA
For this discussion, you will carry out an exercise that involves the use and exploration of government websites. Your goal is to learn new information, discuss your findings with peers (like you will do in the workplace), and respond back to your peers’ findings.
The topic is HIPAA, the Health Information Portability and Access Act. HIPAA is a standard for maintaining the privacy of medical records and patients’ ability to access records. HIPAA was passed into law in 1996.
