MICRO BIOLOGY RESEARCH PAPER It is to be type-written in a font no larger than 12 point and no smaller than 10 point. This paper should be 1.5 spaced in a reasonable font. The work should be approximately five pages and in the APA formatting and citation style. If you are unsure of the APA format, please consult Cornell Universitys page on APA formatting and citation. An important note on citation: You must use your own works when researching. You cannot simply copy and paste (with citations) for your paper. Even with citations, this is considered Academic Dishonesty (plagiarism). You may use short quotes, which must be in quotation¿ but the overwhelming majority of your paper must be in your own words (paraphrased). This means changing both the words in the sentence and the sentence structure for it to be your own words. You should only be borrowing ideas!
Lastly, this is not a group project. You are to work on your own work. Collaboration and turning in of duplicated assignments also falls under academic dishonesty.
The Assignment
Your assignment is to research and describe the lifestyle of one particular microorganism. You may choose a bacterium, virus, or eukaryotic organism of your choice. By lifestyle, I mean the anatomy (construction) of the microbe, how your microbe replicates, and details about the biochemistry of the microorganism. Additionally, if the organism is pathogenic, you will need to include details as to how the organism causes disease and how disease is prevented, treated, managed, and/or cured.
