There are two parts to this discussion board. On the initial post, outline the basic assumptions of the theory you have chosen. Answer the following questions. How does it work and what does it focus on? If you were the parents using the theory to help John, how would you intervene?
Once you have outlined the basics of the theory, explain John’s behavior using your chosen theory. Remember you only have to use ONE theory.
John is 15 and he is arguing more with his mother and father about rules. He thinks it is “really stupid” to have a curfew of 11 pm especially when many of his friends do not have the same curfew. He also thinks he should be able to have a girlfriend, but his parents won’t let him until he is 16. John also is beginning to experiment with alcohol and marijuana.
