Importance of Language in Peer Acceptance
What I would like for you to do is to expand an annotated
bibliography into a research essay. You already have the articles and the works cited page ready. Now, simply write the paper. Remember, write with passion and it will be more interesting to work on and to read.
A few key points. It should be between 5-7 pages.
You will need a minimum of 8 sources. (You already have 10 from the annotated bib. So, this is a matter of using your best 8.)
Instead of simply evaluating the sources you have collected, you should use them to develop
and support the thesis of your paper. This is a traditional research paper. In other words, develop a working thesis. Explore the thesis. Develop the thesis based on your own ideas AND the resources you have developed.
Here is the grading scale or rubric for the final version.
Grammar and mechanics 25 points
(Is the paper free of major grammatical errors? Has the paper been proofread carefully?)
Vocabulary 25 points
(Does the paper use a variety of appropriate vocabulary? Is the paper free of diction errors?)
Coherence 25 points
(Does the paper follow a logical sequence? Is the argument consistent? Does the paper avoid
tangential and irrelevant (i.e. filler) material?)
APA citation 25 points
(Does the paper conform to the basic rules of the APA style sheet?)
Engaging 50 points
(Does the paper engage the reader? Is it interesting because of its structure, style, examples, and arguments?)
