For Wes Moore, the theory is low wage. Most of the community people work 2 to 3 jobs to feed their kids. Many of the jobs were not paying well. His kids’ mother Alicia needs money and his mother also needs money to raise his other kids and his brother Tony kids. At one point he was working two jobs, one for landscaper and the other working at the mall court preparing food. Wes realized the only consistency in his employment was inconsistency. That, and the fact that none of these jobs paid over nine dollar an hour, (p.144). Working long 10 hours days, and barely enough money to feed his kids. Wes Moore community was not pay well especially in the african american and Hispanic communities.
