Write a memorandum of law based on the facts of one of the problems in Assignment 11.6.* For the format of the memorandum, see Exhibits 7-9, 7-10 [see 7-9–7-10.pdf
], and 7-17 [see 7-17.pdf
] in Chapter 7. You can make up additional facts (e.g., the names of the parties and your supervisor and more details about the question asked).
*The problems in Assignment 11.6 are:
(a) Can a woman agree (for a fee) to bear the child of another woman using in vitro fertilization
(b) Can a doctor assist a patient to commit suicide?
(c) Can a church be forced to pay taxes on profits from its bingo games?
(d) Can a local government use its zoning laws to try to close a bar that features topless dancers?
(e) Can a minor daughter challenge the validity of a deceased parent’s will that leaves everything to the parent’s pet cat?
(f) Can a burglar bring a civil suit against a homeowner for injuries received when the burglar fell because of a defective floor in the house being burglarized?
(g) Can a husband be prosecuted for raping his wife?
(h) Can a man prevent an abortion from being performed on the woman he impregnated when the woman is a mentally retarded, unmarried adult living with her parents, who are arranging the abortion?
(i) Can a parent invalidate the marriage of his 13-year-old daughter who married her first cousin, also 13 years old?
(j) Can a patient prevent his doctor from telling the patient’s health insurance company about the patient’s AIDS status?
