Professional and Scientific Staff Management (PSSM)- System Proposal
As project manager, you need to estimate the project’s effort and schedule. The users would expect at least general ranges for a product delivery date. Once you have completed the system request, you submitted it to the steering committee for their next meeting. When the steering committee met, they placed the project high on its list of projects. A senior systems analyst was assigned to help you conduct a feasibility analysis because of his familiarity with systems.
Begin by creating System proposal using the template attached (System Proposal Template)
and complete the first 5 items listed in the template which includes the following:
1. Executive summary – Summarize the high level details of PSSM system proposal.
2. System request (Copy and paste from milestone-1, attachment provided)
3. Evolutionary Work-plan and work breakdown structures – Use the attached template (Evolutionary WBS Template for the Enhanced Unified Process) and complete all columns as much as possible
4. Risk Assessment – Classify the risk of this project to be low, medium, or high and justify your answer.
5. Complete the feasibility analysis report for technical, economic, and organizational feasibility. Use the following template for economic feasibility analysis. Include cost-benefit analysis and break even point. Note: you may use text book example for all numbers that go into economic feasibility analysis. (Feasibility analysis attachment)
Note:
The templates provided may have some things that do not correlate with PSSM’s staffing process. You may modify things so that they fit in with the scenario of PSSM. At this stage, it is more important that the process is understood rather than the numbers being “correct.”.
