It’s a great way to get everyone more familiar with the sorts of biology studies out there right now. You can do this as a presentation or if you want to get creative you can do a poem or any other sort of presentation, as long as you address the points in the rubric.” – Dr.Langel
RUBRIC ?
□ Current Biology News Presentation (5%; rubric will be provided): Students will prepare about a 5-minute presentation about a recent biology news story in their OWN words.
■ The presentation should address a general audience and should summarize a recent biology news story (written/prepared by you!). Simply reading the news article as your presentation will result in a 0 score for the assignment.
□ You have the option on how you present the material (a PowerPoint presentation, a song or poem about the topic, a demonstration or skit, etc.) on your designated presentation date (scheduled during the first week of class).

♡ Some good websites for finding articles include: www.sciencedaily.com, www.sciencemag.org/news, nsf.gov/news and science news sections of Google or bbc.com that include information from biology-related journal articles
