Organizational behavior in job

This project will allow you to take all of the information you have learned about Organizational Behavior and apply it toward your own real-world career aspirations. You will use the tools and skills you have developed to evaluate yourself as a potential employee, and then evaluate a job and a company that you are interested in working for using the information from your self-evaluation. This project will allow you to demonstrate how much you have learned, will help to prepare you for the job market, will allow you to be more successful in future job interviews, and will provide you with a better understanding of the type of job and organization in which you are most likely to be successful.

Content: You are welcome to use any of the topics we have covered this semester to complete this task. At a minimum, your paper should include the following components:

A self-evaluation: you should use the results of the self-report surveys we completed during the first half of the semester to perform an evaluation of yourself as a potential employee. You should discuss your key personality traits, general mood and emotional reactions, values, attitudes, and decision-making style.
Evaluate your person-job fit: select a specific job you are interested in obtaining after graduation (or a job you aspire to have further in the future). Identify the specific job and explain what the job entails. Then, using the information from your self-evaluation, discuss your likely person-job fit for this position.
Evaluate your person-organization fit: research a specific organization where you would like to be hired to do the job you selected in Step 2. Identify the organization and briefly describe the information you believe to be relevant to what it is like to work there. Then use your self-evaluation to discuss your potential person-organization fit based on organization’s culture, CSR activities, ethical scandals, leadership style, use of teams or individual work, etc.

Instructions: Remember, there are no right or wrong answers. You may realize as you complete the project that your dream job or organization might not be as good of a fit as you thought. That is okay, the whole point of this project is to use what you learned about organizational behavior to understand yourself and your career options better. Or perhaps you will find a job and organization for which you are likely to be an excellent fit. Great! Either way, be sure to use all of the appropriate course topics to guide your evaluation and explain your reasoning. Papers will be submitted electronically on Blackboard by the posted deadline and should be 3-5 pages in length, double spaced, 1-inch margins, size 12 Times New Roman font.
