Pandemic Event
Length of your report to be approximately eight (8) pages with one and one-half line spacing, Twelve (12) point font maximum. You must use a minimum of four (4) sources besides the readings included in the course, and must cite your sources using APA format, and include a Bibliography. Please do not use any ‘coloured’ cover pages, and the cover page does not count as one of the eight (8) required pages. Do include your name on any cover page. Additional instructions and a rubric will be posted on the course website. A rubric is posted in the Assignment section. Please submit as a word.doc or in .rtf format to the Grade Centre. If you are using a Mac, then there may be issues opening your submission so please note that you are using that type of machine.
The topic:
Research a pandemic event (either recent or historical). Consider details such as: what happened to cause this situation; how were industry, social structures and possibly the environment affected; what could have been done to prevent the loss of life or restrict the impact on workplace efficiencies. Describe how this situation impacted pandemic planning. Identify what changes were implemented in legislation and what further changes you believe should be implemented to ensure a better response if another widespread outbreak occurs.
