Philosophy Argument
I picked Jodie and Mary case for this assignment.
Your task each week will be to write a response that is a minimum of two pages to the reading (This means two full pages). Generally, this will require students meet two goals:
1. Argument Reconstruction: Each week we will be examining an ethical theory that will be defended by several arguments. It is your task to pick one of the arguments from the reading and then reconstruct it in the standard argument form. (Some of these are more explicit than others in the text.) You do not have to get it exactly right, but I must see that you have made a good faith effort to reconstruct the argument.
2. Argument Analysis: After reconstructing the argument, the rest of your response should be an analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the argument. You must determine whether the argument is valid or invalid and why. From there, you must spend time to determine which of the premises, if any, are true and why. This second requirement should be the bulk of your response.
