Background information: Podiatry schools are medical schools. They are a separate kind of medical school, much like dental school is separate from traditional medical school. In the same way, podiatric medical school is a medical school, but is separate from traditional medical schools. Podiatrists are essentially, Foot and Ankle surgeons/doctors. Podiatrists are licensed to perform all types of surgeries, prescribe medication, and perform other treatments for the ankle and foot. They get a DPM (doctor of podiatric medicine) degree upon graduation. They usually work in the hospital with other doctors or in a private practice.
I am in the final draft of my Admission essay.
