Assessment:
The student will deliver an oral presentation analysing the role of social media on a company’s image
and reputation.

Description:
The Oral Presentation assessment will examine how social media supports the success of companies and organizations. After consulting with the teacher, each student will choose a company or organization and examine how they use social media and the impact it has on their vision and business strategies Students are expected to choose organizations that are active in social media in order to be able to analyse the success or failure of their Social Media strategies towards the achievement of corporate goals.

Students are also expected to demonstrate an ability to use standard Social Media terminology and show knowledge of available techniques and strategies to promote an organization, enhance its image and reputation, and how to measure its effectiveness. The Oral Presentation should also demonstrate students’ understanding of the role of social media in supporting corporate strategies.

Rationale:
Social media has been playing a critical role in the success of organizations. An understanding of how it can be used to help organizations succeed is a significant skill in today’s media and business worlds. This assessment will help students to critically analyse this significant aspect of business success in order to apply such skills in their future professional experiences.

Method:
Oral Presentations are expected to cover the below areas:
1. Company profile
2. Social media strategy analysis
3. Recommendations

Students are not limited to the above content. This is only a guideline for students to use while preparing their presentations.

Please note: Each student has 5 to 6 minutes to present her/his research findings.
