Annotated Bibliography
SPECIFICS FOR YOUR ASSIGNMENT:
List of 8 sources
Side note: the sources you annotate should include all sources you read, researched, discovered. Just because they are on your annotated bibliography, it doesn’t mean they will be fit to use in your paper. This is an evaluative step, determining on a personal level how effective the sources will be for your specific research. Thus, the three I provided are required. Maybe you can use some of the info to set up the reader with background info, maybe not. This process will help you determine that!
Other requirements:
1. Citation (in proper MLA format – see Purdue Owl online or utilize the handbook I suggested for specific updated formatting guidelines)
2. Purpose (meaning – why was this written? to inform people of… to explain that…)
3. Summary (several sentences offering an overview of the whole article – the main argument, supporting facts, etc.)
4. Usefulness (how well does it present the whole argument – are pieces or elements missing from the research? do you feel it is biased? – this is a great place for the CRAAP test below)
5. Evaluation (how will this help you? to what degree can you use it in your writing? It is ok if you find through this process that it doesn’t quite further your work – state that here. You only know that after you have effectively evaluated a source, which is the true intent of this assignment!)

The length for each entry is several sentences – on average, a solid paragraph for each entry. The most important part is that each entry (source listed) addresses the five required components
