Rec Letter

Here are two recommendation letters that my professors asked me to draft for them. The first letter is clearly better than the second because I have stolen lots of lines from google to draft it (it is hard to compliment myself so I needed a kick start). I wrote the second letter I wrote (which is terrible). Both letters now contain the information you need to rewrite and elevate them to another level. Through your rewrite, I hope that you will adjust every sentence accordingly to make it clear and concise (no fancy vocabulary, please). If there is redundancy, just delete it. If there are specific examples that you feel does not add value, delete it. If there is confusion at any part, message me. Specific contents the admissions committee wants to see in a letter: academic performance and leadership experience (my undergrad GPA at Berkeley is much lower than my Harvard’s graduate GPA FYI). I have not individually lead any projects yet, have co-lead). Research experience and sophistication (my translational research experience in an industry setting is weaker than students who do basic research during undergrad to understand specific mechanisms). If I served in a purely support capacity, just doing mechanical work, this will be weak. But if there were opportunities (which there were) to learn key skills for independent or collaborative research, learn how to design and perform experiments and then analyze and interpret results, this can be equally strong of an experience like in basic research.
