Context

In order to develop skill with anything, you have to practice. Since our work this semester focuses on using sources, the primary skills in development for this piece are using sources judiciously – summarizing and paraphrasing accurately and effectively, using quotations sparingly and with purpose, and keeping track of source material.

To provide you with an opportunity to build these skills, you will write a 3-4 page paper that uses the two sources I have assigned. To frame your use of the articles, you may choose how you wish to present the material – simply presenting similarities and differences between the work OR focusing on a key point or theme that runs between the articles and then providing some commentary on it OR taking issue with or disagreeing with a particular stance you find in the articles. WHAT you do with the works isn’t as important to me as HOW you handle the source materials.

Whatever you choose to do, please provide an introduction with a clear thesis statement, several discussion sections, and a conclusion. You will also need a Works Cited page for this piece.
