Hello Professor and Classmates!

The scenario I have chosen is, “I need to know how to effectively search for do-it-yourself information”. I Chose this scenario because I am always trying to do new things around my house. I also use do-it-yourself projects in my class as well as with my 4-year-old. I often use Pinterest for this type of search, but I also use google. Whenever I place what I am looking for, I try to be as detailed as possible to ensure that I am getting what I am looking for.

When I placed “Re-do wood kitchen table do-it- yourself” into the google search engine, many different things came up for Pinterest. I found different ideas for what I wanted to do. I tried again without putting the keyword “wood” in the search engine and many different types of tables popped up unrelated to my search. I learned to make sure that you place exactly what you are looking for into the search engine that you are using, to ensure that you are getting what you are looking for. I also learned to be specific in what I am looking for by using the correct spelling, keywords and punctuation.
