Okay so this is a student spotlight which is like showing off a student more or less but like what they’re doing and so on in school. I have the info you need so you do not need a source. If you have any questions just let me know.

Makayla Reynolds
Age: 19
Major: Phycology and Spanish
Lived in Morehead her whole life
Direct quote: “My sister has been a major influence in my life because I see how she uses her education in mental health to bring awareness to the stigma surrounding mental health and give back to her community.”
Very interested in human factors research and perfecting her Spanish.
She got into this because her professor asked if she was interested as it would help her resume to get into grad schools and as a phycologist.
This semester she is conducting research in the human factors lab with her lab manager.
In future semesters she’d like to conduct her own research.
Her end goal is to be a therapist while also doing human factors research for an organization.
She wants to get her doctorate in phycology.
She got into Spanish when she went to Mexico in 2018 and she fell in love with the culture and she loved the idea of being able to communicate with others in a different language and she decided to make it from a minor to a major. Along with just learning another language she says it will help later on in her career when encountering people who do not speak English as their primary language.
It helps attract more career opportunities as today most companies like having bilingual people.
She sometimes slips up every now and then and speaks Spanish or thinks in Spanish before saying something to someone who only speaks English.
Her main desire in life is to make others lives easier and more enjoyable and she feels like she’d be able to do that by doing what she does in school.
She is an empathetic person and by knowing the things she will learn in school will help her connect with people on a deeper level.
