CASE:
Simon prefers to sleep all the time. No matter how much he sleeps, he constantly feels powerless. He thinks that life is completely still. At school he has a hard time keeping up with the lessons and the grades just get lower and lower. No matter how hard he tries, he does not succeed in raising the grades. He feels stupid. He also does not feel that he is getting anywhere in relationships and he does not find any real joys in life. His mother is worried that he has completely stopped training even though he was previously quite active. But he quit football, he thinks that he was not good at it.
Simon feels depressed and thinks that life is meaningless. He has now turned to a therapist who is based on both biological and cognitive explanatory models and treatment methods.
