three main sociological theories (functionalist, conflict, and interactionist)
In this essay you are to present each of the three main sociological theories (functionalist, conflict, and interactionist). Be sure to explain the main points of each perspective, for example, do they look at society on the micro or the macro level? Then you are to state at least one theorist and what their contribution has been to the discipline of sociology, again for each theory. Finally, apply each theory to a topic of your choice, use the same topic for each theory, as that will show your deeper understanding of the course material. Use ONLY your course material to support your work.

Here are the specific WA requirements:
1. Please do NOT add a header to your first page of text nor a cover page. I have that information before I open your document.
2. An introduction and concluding paragraph are required in addition to fully developed paragraphs. A fully developed paragraph consists of a thesis statement, supporting statements, and a transitional / concluding statement.
3. Indent the first line of each new paragraph by one tab (generally 5 spaces). You are NOT to leave a black line in between each paragraph. Please be sure to turn that feature off if you are using MS Word.
4. Double space your work.
5. All of your work must be cited ASA (American Sociological Association) style. That means that any paraphrasing, direct quotes, and your reference page must meet those requirements. See the section entitled ASA Citation Style for more information on how to meet this requirement.
6. Your final piece of work (excluding the reference page) must be AT LEAST three (3) full pages of text with 1″ margins on all four sides. To help you meet this requirement, I strongly recommend that you extend your work to at least the top of a fourth page.
Place a page number in the upper RIGHT-hand corner within the 1″ margin, and use ONLY a 10-12 point font size.
You are required to spell and grammar check your work BEFORE you submit it for assessment. As I tell my face-to-face students, please have another human proof your work before you submit it.
You are to use ONLY the course material to support your work for this class. It is imperative that you are clearly grounded in the sociological perspective for all of your WAs. Outside sources will NOT be considered for credit.
Finally, please submit your work as an attachment utilizing any of the following file extensions: .pdf, .doc, or .docx. Those are the ONLY acceptable file extensions.
