Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become an important part of business for many of today’s companies. Many times, however, its CSR efforts are overshadowed by publicized ethical dilemmas. They also have a page devoted to “Ethics & Compliance”: https://corporate.walmart.com/our-story/global-ethics-compliance. The other side of the Wal-Mart coin, however, contains a slew of ethical issues including claims about labor law, discrimination, etc.

For this week’s discussion, visit and evaluate both Wal-Mart webpages provided and summarize their efforts for CSR and ethics. Next, using your Information Literacy skills, locate at least one reputable article about Wal-Mart’s ethical troubles that has been published within the last 10 years. Share a link to the article by creating a proper APA citation, summarize the article and describe the ethical issue. Finally, answer these questions:

After reading about Wal-Mart’s CSR and ethical efforts versus their ethical issues, does it affect your interest in patronizing the company? Explain why or why not.
Do you feel the CSR/ethics strategies they employ benefit the community, or do you feel it is more of a ploy to make themselves look better? Explain and support your conclusion.
