The topic for my research essay is (Why Should everyone choose a plant base life style). The relevance of this topic to me fellow students at NOVA Alexandria is critical. The information they will be receiving within my essay could possibly be life changing for them.
Another particularly important thing with which you should be familiar – as a college student – is the library and its resources. After our meeting for instruction on library research, you will select a topic of importance to you and write a paper consisting of two parts:
Part I. Identify an important topic or issue that Alexandria Campus students and community should be aware of.
Supply a rational, evidence-based argument proving why this topic is important for the community to know about. Keep in mind that the topic cannot be argued on the basis of merely ‘liking it’ or it ‘being important to you.’ You must make a case for the topic within NOVA’s academic setting. MLA style. (850 words minimum)
Part II. Identify and describe 5-6 books available through the Alexandria Campus library that you would recommend to someone who wants to learn more about your topic. Write a proposal for a virtual display of these books that would appear on the library’s Instagram. Your proposal must include:
A brief description of your topic
An annotated bibliography:
Create citations (MLA style) for at least 5-6 books/library materials/databases appropriate for the topic and available at NOVA’s Alexandria campus library
Write a few sentences describing each book/item proposed and explain why each was selected for your display.
NOVA’s Alexandria librarians will judge the proposal. If your proposal is selected, you will have the chance to create a virtual display on your topic, for which you will receive extra credit (up to five points). You will have to coordinate with our library liaison (professor Annemarie Anderson) and you will be the sole responsible for the project. You can choose (not mandatory) a classmate as a partner, who will benefit from partial extra credit. Additionally, you will be recognized by the library as a contributor to its academic mission
