Wound Healing
Each of the clinical papers listed here should be 3-5 pages long (some will be longer), typed, double-spaced, and referenced. Do not cite references that are more than 5 years old, unless you are doing so for historical purposes. When you cite the Guidelines for Perioperative Practice- formerly known as Perioperative Standards and Recommended Practices [AORN], you must use the most current version. The 2021 edition can be ordered from AORN.
(1) Review the normal sequence in wound healing (Module III, CC)(this is from a website I have to sign into, so I will attach the information from it). What laboratory values/patient parameters are you concerned with? Laboratory values may be found in Module of the CC. (2) How do you know if a patient is at high risk for surgical site infection (SSI) or poor wound healing/wound complications? (3) What did you look for/note when you assessed postoperative wounds? (4) Provide a sample of a postoperative note on the patient’s wound status. (5) What nursing diagnosis is the basis for wound assessment?
